Lincoln Castle Celebrates 10,000th Guided Tour

Historic Site Marks a Landmark Milestone in Tourism

Lincoln Castle has reached a monumental milestone, welcoming its 10,000th guided tour since reopening in 2015. On August 15, 2025, guide Dawn Studd led the special tour, celebrating a decade of renewed interest in one of Lincolnshire’s most iconic historic sites.

The Friends of Lincoln Castle (FOLC) group, responsible for delivering these insightful tours, credits dedicated volunteers and enthusiastic visitors for this achievement. Lasting up to an hour, each tour brings the castle’s centuries-old stories to life for locals and tourists alike. General manager Kim Vickers praised the passion and commitment of guides, saying their work has made Lincoln Castle a must-visit destination.

With specialist tours covering topics such as Magna Carta and Lady Nicola de la Haye, and events running year-round, Lincoln Castle continues to enrich Lincolnshire’s cultural landscape. The milestone is seen as a testament to the enduring allure of Lincoln’s living history.
