Lincoln Pride 2025 Goes Ahead Today Despite Challenges

Aug 16, 2025

Lincoln Pride 2025 is set to take place today, Saturday, August 16, at Orchard Street Car Park

Marking a significant moment for the city’s LGBTQ+ community. After several months of tireless fundraising and heartfelt appeals from both organizers and local supporters, the event has been confirmed, overcoming financial hurdles that threatened its existence earlier this year.

This year’s Pride brings some changes, the most notable being the absence of the traditional parade—a decision made after budget shortfalls. Despite this, organizers have worked diligently to ensure Lincoln Pride remains a powerful community lifeline, especially for LGBTQ+ youth. “Our focus is on creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone feels celebrated,” said a spokesperson.

Among the new attractions is a dedicated dance terrace, promising lively entertainment and opportunities for socializing throughout the day. Stalls, performances, and opportunities for local advocacy will be central features.

Lincoln Pride has long provided essential support and visibility for marginalized groups. Organisers reiterate that, although the format may be different this year, the purpose remains steadfast: fostering unity, celebration, and acceptance across Lincoln.

Attendees are encouraged to join in the festivities, showing solidarity and pride in a city committed to inclusivity.
