Lincolnshire County Council and Winvic Construction Enhance Key Transport Corridor

Lincoln is undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades with the ongoing £1.9 million Carholme Road and A46/A57 roundabout improvement scheme, led by Winvic Construction under the Lincolnshire County Council Highways Framework.

The project began in July 2025 and is scheduled for completion in November. Key works include resurfacing 9,000m² of carriageway, constructing 800m² of new footway, installing 350 meters of drainage with 37 gullies, realigning roads, upgrading kerbs, replacing pavements, and refreshing road markings.

Recent progress includes completed drainage installations and carriageway resurfacing from Nelson Street to Moor Street. Winvic has committed to local job creation and community engagement through careers workshops and STEM activities with schools.

Traffic restrictions such as narrowed lanes, temporary signals on weekdays, lane closures at Carholme Roundabout starting September 8th, and night-time closures are in effect to facilitate safe work. Rob Cook of Winvic emphasized delivering these improvements efficiently while minimizing disruption to residents.
